Dual Nature - Duo Exhibition by Tammi de Rooy and Sarah Eve

A new duo exhibition by Western Australian artists Tammi de Rooy and Sarah Eve, Dual Nature, will open at Palette Fremantle this October, bringing together two distinctive perspectives on the Australian landscape.

While both artists are deeply inspired by the natural environment, their work explores landscape through contrasting visual languages.

Tammi de Rooy’s detailed oil paintings focus on the quieter and more atmospheric moments found in nature. Drawing on her upbringing in Mukinbudin and extensive travels throughout regional Western Australia, her work captures changing light, native flora, trees, open country and the fleeting transformation of familiar landscapes through weather and seasonal change.

Sarah Eve works in Abstract Realism, using expressive colour, layered acrylic paint, texture and dynamic brushwork to explore geology, water and deep time. Inspired by landscapes across the Pilbara, Kimberley, Margaret River and other regions of Western Australia, her paintings consider the scale, energy and enduring presence of ancient rock formations, waterways, gorges and coastlines.

Together, the artists create a visual conversation between the fleeting and the enduring, atmosphere and structure, intimacy and scale.

Set just metres from Leighton Beach, Palette Fremantle provides a fitting coastal setting for an exhibition centred on connection to place and the natural world.

The Opening Event offers visitors the opportunity to meet both artists, explore the exhibition and speak directly with them about the landscapes, experiences and creative processes behind their work.
