Golden Injidup is a celebration of warmth, light, and movement within the ancient rock formations of Injidup Natural Spa. In this larger-scale painting, colour takes the lead—sunlit golds, ochres, and soft coastal blues flow across the surface, capturing the way light dances on stone and water during the warmer months. The expanded scale allows the landscape to feel immersive, inviting the viewer to step into the scene rather than simply observe it.

The natural pool becomes a glowing sanctuary, shaped and protected by rock yet continually refreshed by the ocean. I was drawn to the way Injidup holds this quiet contradiction: a place that feels safe and nurturing while remaining deeply connected to the raw power of the sea beyond. Broad, expressive gestures suggest the movement of water, while layered textures echo the slow, patient shaping of the surrounding stone.

Rather than aiming for precise representation, this work focuses on atmosphere and sensation, the warmth of the sun, the shimmer of water, and the grounding presence of rock beneath your feet. The heightened colour palette reflects memory and emotion as much as place, allowing the landscape to feel alive and radiant.
