This artwork, Whispering Giants, is inspired by the ethereal beauty of Boranup Forest in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. Here, towering karri trees; some over 60 metres tall; rise like ancient guardians of the land, their pale trunks glowing softly in the dappled light. These majestic giants seem to whisper to one another as the breeze stirs their leaves, drawing you deeper into their embrace.

Boranup Forest is a place of magic and serenity, where time feels suspended beneath the cathedral-like canopy. The forest floor, carpeted with ferns and wildflowers, invites quiet reflection. Sunlight streams through the trees in golden shafts, creating a play of light and shadow that shifts with each step.

Everyone who has wandered through this enchanted place knows the profound sense of peace and wonder it brings. It is a reminder of nature’s timeless strength and delicate beauty.

Through Whispering Giants, I seek to honour the grandeur and tranquillity of Boranup Forest, capturing the feeling of being dwarfed and embraced by these ancient, silent witnesses of the land.
